Mel's Procrastination Palace
Wednesday, November 02, 2005 Have you heard?

There's a new publishing company in town and so far, it's looking DAYUM good.

Here's a line from their website:
Welcome to Samhain Publishing, Ltd., a new publishing house for those who appreciate all genres of fiction and non-fiction as well as stories that make the reader feel. Books that arouse emotions in the reader, stories that make you happy or sad, joyous or angry, or just make you think - this is what a reader can expect from a Samhain publication. It will be a new home for authors to stretch their creative wings and pen wonderful tales to entertain, inform and enrich avid readers!
I like that... make a reader feel. Cuz I don't care what genre I'm reading, I don't feel, I probably won't finish.

There are some GREAT names already up there on the coming soon page...

And Samhain Publishing has accepted one of the stories I feel rather strongly about--Believe the Magic for publication in 2006!!!!! I think we decided it was best described as light fantasy with romantic elements. (Think modern people, modern setting and some really bizarre things happening to them--magical gems, fairies, time/space jumping, and of course, a greedy villian who wants all the magic to himself--at any cost.)

In other news, it looks like I'll have a Christmas story out with Ellora's Cave. I'll have more details on that soon!

:) So, despite the flu, it's been a good couple of days! *cheers*
