Friday, April 28, 2006 A pending review?

dearauthor.com coherts Jane and Jayne havea chosen several e-books to review on their blog. It says Melanie Blazer (darn that "E"... I know I should buy that domain name~!) and the book they'll review is "BLIND DATES" but I'm pretty sure the suggestion was made for them to review "BRAND NAME DATES".

We'll see what they think :)

The rest of the blogosphere has been complaining of the blahs. I'm gonna grab that cop-out--I've been writing and doing house stuff--all that spring cleaning--and the siding arrives on Tuesday so I know the next couple of weeks will be oh-so-much work.

Maybe I'll have a fun house-updating injury to report. *snicker*

Thursday, April 20, 2006 Whoo hoooo!

Just wanted to pop in and let ya'll know that my main website has been updated. There's still a couple of glitches I've alerted my webmistress about, but at least it's got BELIEVE THE MAGIC front and center! (And an excerpt too!)

I haven't really announced anywhere, but I'll take this moment to scream to the world that Samhain Publishing will be publishing my racing-themed story, "Trophy Girl" in July, 2006. I'll give you a tease on that later.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

Sunday, April 09, 2006 Copy cat!!!!

My goal is to blog semi regularly. Stealing meme's from Shan is a vital way of doing so, ya think? *snicker* Since she's a pal, I hope she doesn't mind. Besides, I'm a dweeb and find historical stuff like this cool.

Go to Wikipedia. In the search box, type your birth month and day (but not year). List three events that happened on your birthday. List two important birthdays and one interesting death. Post this on your blog.

July 15

3 events:
1988 - Die Hard opens in theaters, starring Bruce Willis
1815 - Napoléon Bonaparte surrenders from aboard HMS Bellerophon
1799 - Rosetta Stone is found in the Egyptian village of Rosetta, by French Captain Pierre-François Bouchard.

2 birthdays:
1606 - Rembrandt, Dutch artist (d. 1669)
1951 - Jesse Ventura, professional wrestler and former Governor of Minnesota

1 death:
1997 - Gianni Versace, Italian fashion designer (b. 1946)

Now isn't that interesting? hmmmmmmm......

Thursday, April 06, 2006 Do the Ipod Shuffle

Stole from Shan who stole from others, who stole from yet others.... you get the picture...

Put your iTunes/iPod on shuffle.Say the following questions aloud, and press play.Use the song title as the answer to the question.NO CHEATING.

Note: there are 313 songs on the Ipod. The daughter (aged 14) the hubby and I all share it. I'm going with a total shuffle.... and I'm scared.

1. How does the world see you? Run like Hell by Pink Floyd (I can't stop laughing)

2. Will I have a happy life? Longview, by Green Day (er..... I have never heard this song... but the title has promises...)

3. What do my friends think of me? God Must Hate me, by Simple Plan (gee, thanks daughter, for downloading these wonderful songs that fit so well with these questions. Lemme go find a cliff now....)

4. Do people secretly lust after me? Crazy, by Simple Plan (I'm crazy? Their crazy... must be them!)

5. How can I make myself happy? Levy Breaks, Led Zepplin (Oh, the things that come to mind...)

6. What should I do with my life? Welcome to Paradise, by Green Day (Haven't heard this one either.. But I think I need to.)

7. Will I ever have children? Shine, by Collective Soul (Considering how many CS songs are on this thing I figured one HAD to appear. I find this ironic, however, b/c my daughter's nickname is sunshine....)

8. What is some good advice for me? I wanna know what love is, by Foreigner (Anyone have any clue how to decipher that one?)

9. How will I be remembered? Let's Go All the Way, By Sly Fox (Oh, goodie, I'm considered a HO)

10. What’s my signature dancing song? Take it Away, By The Used (Another of the daughter's songs. These titles are just too ironic, eh?)

11. What’s my current theme song? Grow Up, by Simple Plan (Bwahahahahahahaaha, Nevah!!!)

12. What do others think is my current theme song? Some Say, by Sum 41 (Say what?)

13. What shall they play at my funeral? Never Tear Us Apart, By INXS (Awww, now that's romantic...)

14. What type of men do I like? Someday by Nickelback (There's a deeper meaning there, isn't there?)

15. How’s my love life? Rock Me, Amadeus, by Falco (OMFG, I can't breathe, can't BREATHE)

So..... what'd you get? :)
